Never Run Out of Content Ideas
These ideas, where are we seeing it? Well, I’m about to give you 12 different ways to get amazing content ideas for your business. Just be ready to dish your audience premium content in the future.
For the longest time, my most frequent question was, “how do I get content ideas?”
I often have to work with tech, beauty, hair, food, skincare, and many brands that are usually alien to me at first…and when I just started, I hit a lot of creative blocks. I was either sounding repetitive or off-brand. However, I must admit that ideas are everywhere; you only need to know the right places to look.
So, when I began to know those places, it became easier, and I began to create better, engaging ideas.
You want to know those places? Let’s get to it!
1. Learn to ask your audience questions:
When you do, you will be able to identify their needs, their challenges and frustrations. For instance, you can say, “tell me your wig problem”. From their answer, you may notice similarities and identify your audience’s pain points. Create polls or use the question sticker on Instagram. You can ask in your caption too.
Start asking more questions.
2. Be a comment scoop
Sometimes, you can take time to go over your idea audience’s comments. Look at the questions or discussion they are making in the comment section and create content around it.
3. Use Pinterest:
If you haven’t been using Pinterest, you are sleeping on a gold mine. Pinterest is a visual search engine where you could enter something like “freelancing for beginners” “Instagram story ideas”. You get a plethora of visual results that will add a different gear to your content creation.
4. Answer the Public is another gold mine
This one is key to your content strategy because it brings several questions that your audience are asking. You could input “natural skincare” and get over 100 questions that your audience are asking.
5. Instagram Reels and TikTok videos can also the trick
Those 15–30 second videos can inspire you to create exciting content for your audience. You can look out for sounds and transitions that you like. You can also look out for relatable content that you think you can do better or repurpose for your brand.
6. Check out YouTube
YouTube search bar is also a place to see the questions people are asking about your brand or industry.
7. Interviews
This one works for me. Do you know how many times ideas pop in my head each time I’m watching an interviewing or listening to a podcast? You can also engage people in conversations; those discussions can understand things from others’ perspectives.
8. Show people what you are reading or listening to
This is an excellent form of creating content. You can do a roundup of content that interests you for your audience. You can also do a roundup of past content you have made about a topic (Instagram has a guide that can help you do this better). Another way is to look at it and find a different way to create new content.
9. Q&A sessions with experts
For instance, there was a time Salem King asked a question on money management. He got tons of answers and questions to that single content on his IG story. If you a finance expert, you can answer some of those questions on your platform.
10. Interview an industry outsider
Talk with someone that knows little to nothing about your industry. They will probably have tons of questions to ask. Those questions could be your audience’s pain point.
11. Google
Google is an all-timer platform for content ideas. Check places like “related search” or “questions people ask”; they will help you see what is bothering your customer about your product.
12. Topic generator
You can use Hubspot or Potent topic generator to find topics that interest your audience.
As you use these platforms, ensure to have a folder names swipe file or have a sheet that contains links to ideas or content that will be useful in the future. You should also have a journal that could help you put down thoughts and ideate better.
The idea of any content you create for your business is to create value. To help your audience in a way. So it could be to answer a question they have in mind or clarity to a situation or an inspiration to do something. Whatever it is, I hope these platforms will help you create better content from now on.
